2019 NBA DRAFT PROSPECT RANKINGS
Each player's comparison is their ceiling, I obviously don't think they will all be "all-stars"

2. R.J. Barret, G, Duke
R.J. is the classic high volume shooting guard. The strength of R.J's game is creating his own shot. He still needs to find consistency in his three point shot, but once he finds that he will be tough to guard in the NBA. Comparison: Kobe Bryant |
|
3. Ja Morant, PG, Murray State
Ja is an explosive point guard, who has great passing ability, and is able to create his shot at a high level. Morant still needs to become an elite three point shooter, but that will come with his ridiculous work ethic. Comparison: Damian Lillard |
|
4. Bol Bol, C, Oregon
Bol has great athleticism for his 7'2" size. He has the ability to stretch the floor from the three point line, while still having smooth moves in the post. The strength of Bol's game is his shot blocking, and I think that is more reason why Bol can be the perfect modern NBA big man for any team. Comparison: Kristaps Porzingis |
|
5. Cam Reddish, F, Duke
Cam Reddish is easily one of the most talented players in this class. Having been more of a ball dominant player for all of his career prior to playing at Duke, I think he struggled adjusting to being the third option. With more opportunities I think Reddish will be able to show his true potential. Comparison: Andrew Wiggins |
|
6. Nassir Little, F, North Carolina
Nassir is a great modern NBA wing player. Little has the athleticism to defend at a high level, to go along with the smooth offensive game to be strong on that size of the court. Little improved for the Tar Heels throughout last season season, and I expect him to keep improving throughout his basketball career. Comparison: Kawhi Leonard |
|
7. Brandon Clarke, C, Gonzaga
Clarke is an unbelievably athletic forward size player. His elite level shot blocking makes me think he can play in the post at the next level. Clarke has also developed a 3 point shot this year at Gonzaga, while still having room to improve at creating his own shot. But I think he will be the steal of this years draft. Comparison: Julius Randle |
|
8. Goga Bitadze, C, Budućnost VOLI
Bitadze is a bit of an unknown having played is the Serbian ABA league. He is the modern NBA big man with a smooth three point shot, and the ability to switch on pick and rolls. Similarly to Jokic he still has some room to improve with his athleticism, but he may be my favorite prospect in this draft. Comparison: Nikola Jokic |
|
9. Darius Garland, PG, Vanderbilt
Garland is a very athletic and talented true point guard. Earlier in the season Darius tore his ACL and is was out for the season. If a team takes a chance on Darius they will get a very smooth scorer, while being a talented passer, who is a great leader. If Garland is drafted into the right situation I expect him to have a great NBA career. Comparison: Mike Conley |
|
10. Kevin Porter, G, Southern California
Porter is an unbelievably athletic combo guard. Porter's ability to stay on the court this season has been his biggest problem. When Kevin is healthy I think he is one of the more exciting players to watch in the draft class. Comparison: Devin Booker |
|
11. DeAndre Hunter, F, Virginia
Hunter has the best perimeter defensive in this entire draft class. Hunter can shoot the three at the high level while being an unbelievably skilled defender and I expect his production to translate to the next level. Comparison: Caris Levert |
|
12. P.J. Washington, F, Kentucky
Washington is a vastly improved three point shooter in his second season at Kentucky. I think he has the ability to play small ball 5 at the next level with elite rebounding ability and next level athleticism. Comparison: Blake Griffin |
|
13. Talen Horton-Tucker, F, Iowa State
Horton Tucker may be the most versatile players in this class. Standing at 6'4" he can play and defend almost any position on the floor. He also has one of the cleanest shooting strokes in the country. Horton-Tucker could be one of the biggest steals of this years draft. Comparison: (undersized) Draymond Green |
|
14. Jaxson Hayes, C, Texas
At this point of the draft teams start drafting on upside, and not necessarily production. Hayes certainly has that, he has a 7'3" wingspan, and elite athleticism. Hayes is still incredibly raw, but at this point of the draft this would be a project I would be willing to take on. Comparison: DeAndre Jordan |
|
15. Jarrett Culver, F, Texas Tech
Culver is another talented sophomore who has improved dramatically from his first season. Culver is the classic modern "3 and D" NBA wing player. He has done both at a high level in college and I expect the same in the NBA. Comparison: Khris Middleton |
|
16. Dylan Windler, F, Belmont
While Ja Morant was dominating the Ohio Valley, there was someone else that wasn't too far behind. Windler has an incredibly smooth jump shot to go along with elite level rebounding and deceptive athleticism. He might be the biggest sleeper of back end of this draft. Comparison: Gordon Hayward |
|
17. Justin Wright-Foreman, G, Hofstra
Wright-Foreman is another pure scorer. He averaged 26.6 points per game this season while shooting 51.5% from the field. Some may be turned away from his level of competition, but there have been plenty of small school success and I think Wright-Foreman can continue that trend. Comparison: C.J. McCollum |
|
18. Coby White, G, North Carolina
White might be the fastest player in this entire draft. He has insane speed with the ball, and he is a great shooter. He still needs to show that he can facilitate at a high level if he wants to be an NBA point guard, but I see him playing more of a combo guard. Comparison: (taller) Isaiah Thomas |
|
19. Romeo Langford, G, Indiana
Langford is a very athletic two guard that has the ability to handle to ball when he needs to. He can also create his shot very well, and expect him to be able to in the NBA. Comparison: DeMar DeRozan |
|
20. Cam Johnson, F, North Carolina
Teams may be turned away from is age (22). But I think Johnson may be one of the most NBA ready prospects in this class. He is another common NBA wing, but he is an elite level shooter, to go along with great defensive ability. At this point of the draft I think Johnson would be a steal. Comparison: Nicolas Batum |
|
21. Darius Bazley, PG, Princeton High School (Ohio)
Bazley decided to spend this season training for the NBA rather than going to college. He is a modern NBA point guard standing at 6'8" with great athleticism. At this point of the draft Bazley's potential may be higher than anyone that comes after him. Comparison: Lonzo Ball |
|
22. Sekou Doumbouya, F, Limoges CSP
Doumbouya has a great combination of length and athleticism. While showing great potential when given the opportunity he has struggled to be productive this season and France. It can not be argued the potential Doumbouya has and if he is in a good situation I can see him developing at a rapid pace. Comparison: Jayson Tatum |
|
23. Rui Hachimura, F, Gonzaga
Hachimura has developed very well during his time at Gonzaga. Rui is an athletic forward that rebounds and scores the ball at a very high level. Rui's only weakness is his size, he struggles to find a true position on the court, but put in the right situation I don't see this being a problem in the modern NBA. Comparison: Kyle Kuzma |
|
24. Luka Samanic, F, Union Olimpija
Samanic is another modern NBA big man. He has great size, with the athletic ability to switch on defense. His offensive game is still a bit raw, but the potential is clearly there. Comparison: Pascal Siakim |
|
25. Grant Williams, F, Tennessee
Grant Williams was one of the most productive players in the country last season at Tennessee. He is a bit undersized to play in the post, but his elite level wingspan and three point shooting, shows that he can be the perfect "Draymond Green, PJ Tucker" type player in the NBA. Comparison: PJ Tucker |
|
26. Tyler Herro, G, Kentucky
Herro is another terrific shooter. I think he fits the modern NBA perfectly he shoots at a high level, and create his shot very consistently. Herro's only concern if any would that he has a lot of room to improve on the defensive end, and his lack of length may hinder his ceiling. Comparison: Zach Lavine |
|
27. Mattise Thybulle, F, Washington
Thybulle is the best wing defender in this entire class. At Washington he averaged 2.2 steals and 3.5 blocks which is just ridiculous being only 6'5". Thybulle struggled a bit with his three point shooting, but if he could find his stroke he could be a perfect NBA role player. Comparison: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist |
|
28. Zach Norvell, G, Gonzaga
Norvell is a classic streaky shooter, but when he's on he rarely misses. He has great athleticism and length which will give him the ability to defend at the next level. Norvell would be a great player to come off the bench for any team. Comparison: JR Smith |
|
29. Shamorie Ponds, G, St. Johns
Shamorie is a bit of a volume shooter, but he has shown the ability to be efficient, while having one of the higher usage rates in the country. Ponds has also has shown the ability to facilitate. With some more development on the defensive end, he could also be a great sixth man off the bench. Comparsion: Jamaal Crawford |
|
30. Mfiondu Kabengele, C, Florida State
Kabengele is one of the more versatile players in the draft, with the ability to switch on the defensive end, and the ability to stretch the floor on the offensive end. The strength of Kabengele's game is definitlely his shot blocking, and rebounding. He could be a great rotational player for any team in the NBA. Comparison: Hassan Whiteside |
|
31. Kyle Guy, G, Virginia
32. Chuma Okeke, F, Auburn 33. Marial Shayok, F, Iowa State 34. Nickeil Alexander-Walker, G, Virginia Tech 35. Jalen Lecque, G, Brewster Academy |
36. Eric Paschall, F, Villanova
37. Ty Jerome, G, Virginia 38. Tremont Waters, G, LSU 39. Nicolas Claxton, C, Georgia 40. Amir Hinton, G, Shaw University |
41. Keldon Johnson, F, Kentucky
42. Chris Clemmons, G, Campbell 43. Miye Oni, F, Yale 44. Admiral Schoefield, F, Tennessee 45. Alen Smailagić, F, Santa Cruz Warriors |
46. Tacko Fall, C, UCF
47. Jared Harper, G, Auburn 48. Carsen Edwards, G, Purdue 49. Nazeron Reid, F, LSU 50. Deividas Sirvydis, G, BC Rytas |
51. Dedric Lawson, F, Kansas
52. Jontay Porter, F, Missouri 53. KZ Okpala, F, Stanford 54. Louis King, F, Oregon 55. Bruno Fernando, C, Maryland |
56. Luguentz Dort, G, Arizona State
57. Marcos Louzada Silva, G, Franca International 58. Tariq Owens, C, Texas Tech 59. Mike Daum, F, South Dakota State 60. Fletcher Magee, G, Wofford |
